How do I get started?

How long is each visit?
  • In-person visits are between 3-5 hours.
  • Virtual visits are between 30 minutes to 2 hours.
  • All sessions include 15 minute breaks.
How long will the organizing process take?

The time it will take to begin and end the process depends on a variety of factors:

  • the size of your space
  • amount of possessions you own
  • level of organization of your items

For coaching services please also include:

  • how long it takes you to decide what to keep and discard
  • how much homework you are willing and able to do between sessions
What’s the Marie Kondo KonMari Method?

It is a growing organizational style developed by Marie Kondo, author of “The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying up” and Netflix series “Tidying Up with Marie Kondo” and “Spark Joy.” Tidy Lifestyle organizes by category from easiest to hardest in the order of: Clothes, Books, Papers, Komono (miscellaneous), and Sentimental.

Will you take care of my donations?

Absolutely!

  • I can help you figure out exactly where to take your things.
  • We can arrange a donation pick-up
  • I can take things away upon request IN ADVANCE (up to 5-6 bags).

The most important thing is to GET IT OUT. You’ve done the hard work, now let those things spark joy ELSEWHERE, my friend.

Tidy Lifestyle is committed to leaving you satisfied and happy!

Meet the owner Nicole Sachiko – Organizing means so much more to me than tidying physical spaces. It is a vehicle to help clients learn about themselves, how to maintain organization, and to live their ideal tidy lifestyle.

During my childhood I grew up in a hoarder home. It was typical to walk through “alley ways” of piles upon piles of stuff, a tradition to clear clutter off the table before meals, and a struggle to find items when needed. I can empathize personally with what it feels like to be physically cluttered and mentally stressed. How items naturally accumulate over time and hold us back instead of enhancing our daily lives. In college I studied Psychology, Child Development, and Health Education to ease my insatiable curiosity to help and understand people. After organizing my parents hoarder home I realized how the magic of tidying up can change lives physically and mentally. I went on to get certified with Marie Kondo as a KonMari® Organizing Consultant.

It is my joy in life to help guide you to rediscover what truly sparks joy for you – not only with your possessions but with your life.

What is included in traditional organizing services?

Tidy Lifestyle is a one person organizing team run by the owner Nicole. Please expect only Nicole to come to your home to –

  • Organize for you: folding, categorizing, containing like items together, finding a home for everything
  • Measure spaces
  • Research organizing products 
  • Buy items in store and setting up deliveries for products
  • Set up a functional system around daily habits
  • Donation drop-offs (if any)
  • Free Resources to maintain your space: ex. How to Fold Clothes videos


Sessions FAQ

How do coaching sessions work?
  • Every lesson is 1:1
  • Tidy Lifestyle encourage clients to organize by category in order from easiest to hardest: Clothes, Books, Papers, Komono (miscellaneous), Sentimental.
  • Clients learn how to identify what belongings are worth keeping.
  • Every session is scheduled on the same day and time each week ex: “I have organizing lessons with Nicole every Tuesday from 9am-12:15pm!”
What does a virtual coaching session look like?
  1. Set up and prepare with the First Virtual Session Checklist.
  2. Review your customized schedule of our session so you know what to expect.
  3. Begin session with a chat about your Ideal Lifestyle & our goal for today.
  4. Take Before photos with your phone
  5. Talk about how to keep/discard items through the Joy Checking Process.
  6. Organizing by category in a specific space
  7. Organizing support –
    • how to fold and organize efficiently
    • help to decide what to keep and discard
    • learn what possessions are meaningful and why
    • recommendations of how/where to store items
    • beautiful and effective storage options
    • help with donations, recycling, and trash
    • suggested products to purchase (if any)
  8. Take After photos with your phone

Can my spouse and I organize together in the same coaching session?

Unfortunately, no. Each session is one on one. Organizing is personal and takes concentration. It is up to each individual to decide what they want to keep and discard.

What if I don’t want to discard an item?

Then keep it and keep it with confidence! I am here to support you and your goals. It is up to you to decide what to keep and if you have trouble I am here to help you find the right decision.

How do I decide what to Keep and Discard?

The Joy Checking Process

  • Step 1: Pick up one item at a time
  • Step 2: Hold it.
    • If you’re unsure if it Sparks Joy hug it close to your heart!
    • Gaze at it.
    • If it is clothing, please try it on!
  • Step 3: Pay attention to how your body reacts- how do you feel?
  • Step 4: If you do not know if it Sparks Joy, pick 2-3 similar items and compare
  • Step 5: Show gratitude for each item you keep or discard.


Session Preparation FAQ

Should I clean before you come?

Please do not feel the need to clean or organize before I come. Being able to see your home in its “natural state” tells me a story of your habits.

Do I need to buy organizers or other storage items?

No. We buy storage items after sorting so we know how much you have and what to buy.

How do I prepare for each coaching session?

Think of the reasons you want to tidy. What do you hope to gain from tidying? A big part of staying tidy once and for all is taking initiative to ensure every item has a home. Envision what a whole day at home will look like once you tidy up and have a place of belonging for every item you own. This image includes: your physical environment, your habits and behaviors, and your feelings. Visualize what your home looks like, such as a neat and tidy closet where all your clothes are visible when you open a drawer; what you do there, enjoy picking an outfit or quickly finding what you need to wear when you’re in a hurry; and what you feel when you’re in your closet: content, excited, and fulfilled. Create a vivid image of your ideal lifestyle – imagine the feelings you have associated with that. Be specific – your dream life will feel more tangible when you connect what you want to do with how you will feel.

Payment FAQ

How much does it cost?

All Organizing Services are Project Based

Every space and the amount of items in the space is unique to each individual and family. Prices vary for each client and are based on:

  • the size of the space
  • time it takes to complete
  • client location
  • amount of items to organize.

Whether it is organizing a single project or the entire building, Tidy Lifestyle is committed to completing every project from start to finish. We leave each client feeling happy and satisfied in their most ideal tidy lifestyle.

How do I pay?

Online after you schedule your appointment. Please note: All payments are secure with PCI-certified auditor level security through Stripe. Read more about Stripe Security.

When is payment due?
  • Fees are due immediately after you schedule your appointment.
  • Please note: All projects are paid in advance.
What is your cancellation policy?

It is the client’s responsibility to notify me of a cancellation 48 hours in advance of the scheduled sessions in order to obtain a full refund. Cancellation made less than 48 hours before the session will result in no refund.
